The bread bowl and tomato soup were delicious. Came out super quick. Employees were really friendly and it was nice to see the manager bring out people's food as well, showed that he cared about his restuarant. They do have a military discount.

It’s a must try if u are in the area, we had the waffle with fruits and whipped cream for breakfast. The croissants are so buttery and crispy, had to buy more after I tried one. Everything is so fresh and the location is awesome

Can you even go to San Francisco and not get a clam chowder bread bowl from Boudin? The cafe is in the Pier 39 shops and way less crowded than the original bakery. The big bakery is fun if you've never been there but if you just want to eat, I'd do the cafe. They also sell bread in the to-go boxes here and I bought some to take on the plane. Service is fast and it's a great stopover at the wharf.

Stopped in for a couple pastries and coffee. Their croissants and sticky bun are amazing... perfectly flaky and light, and sweet and delectable respectively. They serve Peet's coffee, and make the drinks with skill. My cappuccino was the proper milk to espresso ratio, not overly milky which is what you get with a novice manning the milk steamer.

Great novel experience so don’t miss it. Had clam chowder in a sour dough bowl, very good. Basket of bread slices is brought to your table after you order so be ready to appreciate lots of bread in one sitting. Take time to walk to the front of the bakery and watch the baker making the bread-fun.

Friendly service, clean environment, and reasonably priced for tourist area. Cant get more San Francisco than with sour dough bread and clam chowder. I ordered the soup and salad combo for $11 and pay the extra $1.39 for the clam chowder soup to be served in a bread bowl. Little side salad was surprisingly good with walnuts, feta cheese, and dried cranberries. Would have given a five-star if had restroom inside but paying customers have to go outside and upstairs and share a public restroom that serves the whole Pier 39.

Boudin has been a traditional visit of mine for about 40 years whenever I get to San Francisco. Food is great. Service is great. Prices are high. Today was my last visit ever. My bill included a 4% surcharge to cover the higher minimum wages that the restaurant has to pay their employees. The right way would be to increase prices to reflect higher operating costs but no, fool the customer , hide the increase and sneak a 4% extra to the bill without any warning. That makes a 1st class business automatically to a third rate outfit.

BIRDS EVERYWHERE!!!!! Good food (same stuff as the big Boudin factory), but doors are propped open and birds come inside. The birds are very comfortable with humans and even if you shoo them away they come back and get VERY VERY close. They are just eating crumbs off the floor. But terrible if you are scared of birds like me. I ended up having to run out in fear before finishing my soup. And I had trouble leaving as swarms of birds stand outside!

Absolutely amazing. We had for appetizers the crab cake, which was so fresh and delicious, and the Peruvian meatballs, also great, and a nice spice to them. For the main course my girlfriend got the clam chowder bread-bowl and I got the crab and corn bread-bowl. Both were great, but the clam chowder was the most superior one. A bit more expensive that most average places, but the view is also great if you go upstairs near the windows.
